Press Release: Monica Simmonds Joins NADPH as Vice President of Alliances & Capacity Development

NADPH is pleased to announce that Monica Simmonds has taken the role of Vice President of Alliances & Capacity Development. In this senior leadership role, Ms. Simmonds will be responsible for building and strengthening strategic partnerships, coalitions, and networks to advance NADPH’s mission, and will enhance our organizational capacity by helping to develop and implement programs that support sustainable growth, expand our service reach, and improve health outcomes.

Mrs. Simmonds brings a wealth of experience in community health activation and has successfully created national strategic partnerships with some of the largest health stakeholders in the U.S. Her efforts have led to the development and implementation of health programs that positively impact community health outcomes on a large scale. Monica Simmonds is an experienced public health and healthcare professional with extensive experience in analytics and consulting for leaders and companies nationwide. She has been recognized with the Women of Elite Excellence award at Walmart and a top national women leadership recognition as a Women We Admire awardee. In her previous role as Director of Health Programs Implementation at Walmart, she leveraged her expertise in public health, health equity, strategic partnerships, program implementation, healthcare analytics, managed care, and evaluation/research to promote health equity by reducing social determinants of health (SDoH) barriers.

 

Mrs. Simmonds has successfully piloted a series of community activations at over 20 stores in six states, impacting over 15,000 customers and featuring over 50 national and community-based organizations. Additionally, she has worked for managed care organizations leading analytics teams and initiatives, identifying $12 million in verified cost savings opportunities, and conducting healthcare utilization and cost analyses for millions of members. Her previous roles include director at LexisNexis, where she led consulting services and established social determinants of health consulting frameworks, and clinical business innovations consultant at Humana, where she conducted national member-centric and provider value-based data analyses.

 

Mrs. Simmonds holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Education with a specialization in Community Health and a minor in Communication Studies from the University of Florida. She also holds a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral Health from the University of South Florida and a Graduate Certificate in Translational Research in Adolescent Behavioral Health.
